Chapter 221 The Deepest Nightmare
Chapter 221 The Deepest Nightmare
Coming to the psychological counseling room again after a few years, Li Yucheng actually didn't have much hope in his heart.
He simply thought that if Ni Jia wanted him to do this, then he would give it another try. Anyway, this disease did not affect his daily life and he would generally not think about it.
He had said the same words and phrases once before and was going to do it again. He actually hated doing this.
As for those bad memories, he usually chooses to bury them, not mention them, not touch them, so his mood will not be affected.
The doctor suggested hypnosis, but Li Yucheng subconsciously refused. Losing control was a very insecure thing for him.
"Mr. Li, I need to get more information," the doctor paused, smiling gently, "You may have hidden something."
"I understand that you can't speak, so we have to use hypnosis to go in and take a look."
From the moment he entered the consultation room, Li Yucheng sat upright and remained in this tense state.
The doctor tried many methods to make him relax, such as playing soothing music, adjusting the lighting, etc., but there were not many effects.
"I don't know what else to say." Li Yucheng replied expressionlessly.
The doctor smiled and glanced at Ni Jia, "How about you go out first and let me talk to him alone?"
Perhaps because he was here, Li Yucheng found it difficult to speak. Ni Jia cooperated, stood up, and nodded in agreement.
Just as he was about to leave, he was stopped by someone. Li Yucheng frowned and said, "No, sit down."
To avoid misunderstanding, he added, "It has nothing to do with you. It's my problem."
Ni Jia interlocked her fingers with his, and Li Yucheng saw a different kind of tenderness on her face, an expression of cautiousness that was a mixture of heartache and concern.
"Then let's give it a try?" Ni Jia rested her chin on Li Yucheng's shoulder, and said in a coaxing and coquettish tone: "I'm here with you, don't be afraid."
Li Yucheng knew clearly what hypnosis would be like. On the one hand, he resisted it physically, but on the other hand, he did not want to disappoint Ni Jia.
After struggling for five or six minutes, he finally stood up and walked towards the recliner, and extended his hand to Ni Jia.
After Ni Jia understood, she looked at the doctor, who smiled and nodded at her, so she moved her chair next to the recliner and let Li Yucheng hold her.
The hypnosis went on quickly, and under the doctor's guidance, Li Yucheng slowly and unconsciously described the environment he was in.
It was a two-story house. The first floor was empty except for Li Yucheng. He squatted down and covered his ears in annoyance.
The baby's crying echoed in every corner of the house. Li Yucheng tried to hide in the bedroom and bathroom, but failed to block out the anxious crying.
He shouted outside, "Stop crying! It's so noisy! It's annoying!"
Unfortunately it was no use. The more he shouted, the louder the crying became and the closer it got to him.
"Go and take a look." A voice guided him.
After a brief resistance, he stood up, opened the door, and began to open doors one by one following the source of the sound.
Every time he felt this voice, it was in this door, which would open and be empty.
He started yelling, "Where are you? Can you please stop crying!"
The only response he got was the continuous crying, which was choked with sobs, occasionally paused, and then became louder.
His anxiety pushed him to walk faster and faster. After searching the first floor, he started to walk up the stairs to the second floor.
He opened the doors one by one, and finally he found the source of the crying in the innermost room of the corridor on the second floor.
The baby was lying in the crib, looking very small, his face red from crying, his limbs kicking around, he was just crying but no tears were shedding.
"Stop pretending to cry!" Li Yucheng yelled at him.
The baby seemed to be deaf, with his eyes closed, kicking and crying.
Li Yucheng kicked the crib: "I told you to stop crying!"
"He may be hungry. See if there is a pacifier nearby, or you can pat him." Another voice came from outside the screen.
He snorted, turned around and sat on the floor, and started playing with the Rubik's Cube in his hand: "No way."
"He's crying so pitifully." The voice asked, "Why don't you want to help him?"
"I'm annoyed with him." Li Yucheng muttered softly, "I hate him."
"Who is he?"
Li Yucheng was silent for a long time, so long that the Rubik's Cube in his hand was disrupted and restored twice, before he whispered, "My brother."
"Is there anyone else at home?" the voice guided him: "You can call someone else to help."
"No one." Li Yucheng said: "They all went to the hospital."
"Hospital? Is anyone there?"
Li Yucheng didn't say anything for a long time. Suddenly he raised his hand and wiped his eyes, choking and saying, "My mother."
The crying continued, and one cry turned into two, and the two cries seemed to be competing with each other, one louder than the other.
It was like a sad and irritable symphony, playing over and over in the room.
It was not until one of the cries sounded as if he was gradually out of breath that Li Yucheng looked back. He saw that Li Chengan's face was covered with a thin blanket. No one knew where the blanket came from.
"What's wrong with him?" the voice asked.
Li Yucheng leaned on the small bed and whispered, "My brother seems to be having trouble breathing."
"Help him," the voice said, "or he will die."
Li Yucheng lowered his head and picked at the Rubik's Cube, his fingers turning red: "He's dead, can my mother come back to life?"
"You know the answer," the voice said. "You actually know how to do it."
As time passed, the crying sound from the bed became weaker and weaker. Li Yucheng's body was trembling slightly, and his nails were bleeding.
Just before the voice was about to disappear, he reached out and lifted the blanket, looked at Li Chengan, whose face was flushed and tears were oozing from the corners of his eyes, and whispered an apology.
"I'm sorry, it's actually my fault. I killed her." He said, "It's me who made you come into this world without a mother."
The scene changed, and the little boy on the bed had grown a lot bigger. Li Yucheng had also grown a little bigger, and the little boy began to run after him.
He chased him from the bedroom to the living room, and from the living room to the garden. Li Yucheng held a textbook in his hand and yelled at him loudly: "Don't follow me!"
The little boy was a little frightened, and he raised the toy in his hand tremblingly, "Brother, I'll give you one."
"I don't want it!" Li Yucheng knocked the toy car over, and it fell to the ground, with the tail wing breaking instantly.
The little boy was shocked for a moment, then squatted on the ground and started crying, "My brother is so fierce."
Li Yucheng glanced at the broken cart and walked away without looking back. When he reached the door, he suddenly stopped and looked through the crack in the wall for a long time.
It lasted so long that Li Chengan started to hiccup, crying and hiccuping at the same time...
"I told you not to follow me." He whispered, "You really can cry."
The nanny took Li Cheng'an away. Li Yucheng returned to the garden, picked up the broken car on the ground, and muttered, "How childish."
