Chapter 1092 1092: Endgame (3)

"Bu-But how? Yo-You were dead. Yo-Yo-You died at the hands of the red haired." Jim uttered in confusion as he kept staggering backward.

His body swayed and dizziness threatened to overtake him but he refused and instead, fell to his knees.

Even with the head strike, he wasn't dead yet but he would soon be.

Scarlet stepped forward as she could see the shocked look on every other person's face on the field.

Vince was the one who dealt the attack?

Wasn't he a Zodiac?

"You think I will really kill my childhood best friend?" Scarlet questioned with a raised brow as he glared at Jim's back.

Vince smiled as his mind flashed back to a few hours ago when he had been fighting with Scarlet, Raze and Greg; they had cornered him on the ground when he shot metal spikes into their legs and bolted forward grabbing Scarlet and smashing her into the ground creating not only a crater but a massive blanket of dust.

"Listen to me Scarlet,"

"Move away, Vince!" Scarlet almost shouted but her mouth was held by the Zodiac as his gaze tightened on her and he whispered.

"... Listen to me, Scar. I'm not really on the enemy side. Look; I can't explain totally but the biggest threat here aside from the leader is Zodiac one. The good thing is that I know how to kill him but I need all of your help."

Scarlet couldn't reply her mouth was closed by Vince who continued speaking as the dust was settling slowly.

"So listen. I will pretend to be dead so he wouldn't suspect anything. He can smell and hear heartbeats. That's how good his perception is but luckily, I can take a pill and sort that out so it will seem as if I was dead.

There's a pair of silver swords he is afraid of and could severely hurt and potentially kill him. Gustav held control of these swords and used it to make him do his bidding after he was given the swords by the king of demons as a gift for winning their duel and taking Jim's position."

"...."

"None of the Zodiacs know about this but I found out when I was doing a little swooping around in order to find out how we can take the Otherworlders down. So before we attacked, I managed to sneak the swords onboard but I need your help to create a scenario where he will believe I'm dead. We need an illusion of some kind so I can get close enough to finish him off."

Seeing as the dust was thinning, he removed his hand from Scarlet's mouth with an urgent look.

The young woman hesitated for a few seconds before looking into his softened eyes.

"You really didn't betray us?"

"Of course not."

"And you want to play dead?"

Vince nodded.

Scarlet heaved a sigh then a devilish smile appeared on her face.

"You got it."

Her fist blurred forward with fiery force as flames consumed her whole arm which smashed into Vince's face lifting him off her body and hurtling out of the dust before bouncing a few metres away and then remaining unmoving.

Fast forward to a few minutes ago, she had told Kael of the plan and how they should achieve this hence he sunk into the shadow to inform Lilly who was perched on a building that he needed lots of arrows from her.

Then he moved to Elara knowing that she could cast illusions that seemed real, he asked for her help.

That was when he rejoined the fight after briefing the girls.

All these led up to this moment with Jim on his knees coughing out mouthfuls of blood.

His body was looking pale when a blood red arrow whistled from behind and smashed into his back.

One by one, a hundred arrows crashed into his back, tearing through his earlier thick fur.

Blood spritzed from the demon's mouth as his gaze remained furiously locked on Vince.

"Yo-You betrayed us? How dare you?! I told that blasted Gustav not to trust you but he wouldn't listen."

His body was beginning to pale at an astonishing rate while a banshee-like scream tore out of Lilly's mouth as she crashed atop the building feeling a rush of blood she had lost by loosing arrows after arrows entering through her from Jim.

The sensation overwhelmed her incredibly making her unaware of what was what anymore.

Elara leaped towards the building to check on her condition.

Tak. Tak. Tak.

"Did you think I will betray my friends? You think I will ally with the group that killed my brother and my father? The group that took everything from one of my close friends and almost killed him? Ha!"

Vince did a short laugh as he shook his head in amusement before grabbing the robe of the Otherworlders draped around him and ripped it off before throwing it to the ground.

He then proceeded to stomp, jump and spit on it angrily as tears began cascading down his face while doing his little activity with pure malice.

Jim gritted his teeth in immense pain as he looked at the sword lodged in his chest. The engraving of a menacing skull on it.

'Damn you Lucifero for creating these swords! You were afraid that I would grow stronger than you and overthrow you as the king of demons hence you created these blasted swords with the strength to take me down anyday and time.

Then you handed them to Gustav as he was now your most powerful creation yet. Damnnn you! I hope you rot in HELLL! Wait… you are in hell already. Ha!'

Then his furious gaze locked onto Vince as his vision began dwindling and he clenched the earth beneath his feet about to lunge towards the young man when the earth moved and locked him place.

Thalos bolted forward with all the speed remaining in his body.

Then with a swift swing of his sword, Jim's head was in the air rolling around for a few seconds as blood oozed from his neck like a geyser.

The head flew into the air for a few seconds as his eyes rolled around the place, scanning every single person's face with a malicious intent.

"Gus…Gu…Gustav will finish you all…"

The head crashed into the earth with a low thud.

An earth pillar burst out of the ground kicking the head into the air for a moment.

"Together!"

Water rose around Charlotte and Jay, wind howled around Lyra, flames burst around Scarlet, metal swords gleamed in front of Vince, Lightning spears around Kael and Max, ki slashes tore from Alba's swords.

All the attacks rushed forward as one crashing into the head with a deafening bang as the attacks obliterated the head into a blood paste while the decapitated body could be seen turning to ash.
