Chapter 477 Dusk Taoist
Chapter 477 Dusk Taoist
Seeing this, Li Xingyun didn't say anything more. He turned around and looked at the treasury behind him, then said to Hu Tian: "Okay, the treasury is out of money, I'm leaving!" After that, he waved his hand casually, turned around and left with Wen Taiji, leaving Hu Tian alone there, looking at their receding backs, thoughtful.
"Hu..." Hu Tian let out a long breath, as if all the strength in his body was released with it. A fine layer of sweat appeared on his forehead, and his heartbeat was much faster than usual. He was obviously frightened.
What truly frightened Hu Tian wasn't Li Xingyun's sudden appearance behind him, but the fact that Li Xingyun had so easily placed his hand on his shoulder without him noticing. This meant that Li Xingyun's skill was far beyond his imagination. If Li Xingyun had any ill intentions towards him, he would have died without even realizing it.
Hu Tian calmed himself down and waited until Li Xingyun left before he slowly walked into the vault. However, when he saw the empty vault, his eyes widened like bells, his face filled with disbelief.
"This... How is this possible?" Hu Tian muttered to himself, his voice filled with shock and confusion. He rubbed his eyes, hoping it was just an illusion, but no matter how he looked, the vault was empty, without a trace of valuables left.
Hu Tian's expression grew increasingly grim, his lips trembling slightly as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he only let out a soft sigh. He simply couldn't accept this fact—his vault had actually been emptied by Li Xingyun!
Hu Tian seemed to have suddenly lost all his strength, staggering around and leaving the vault without looking back. He really didn't want to face this cruel reality again, as if as long as he didn't look at it, none of this would have happened.
Li Xingyun walked out of the vault with brisk steps, feeling a little anxious because he had something important to do. He walked straight towards Ye Qingcheng's courtyard, as if there was a long-awaited answer waiting for him to reveal it.
Now, he had already arranged everything in the outside world, and all his plans were proceeding as planned. What remained was to strengthen his relationship with Ye Qingcheng and, by the way, to clarify some of the things that had been bothering him.
When Li Xingyun arrived at Ye Qingcheng's courtyard, Ye Xiaoyu happened to come out of the house. As soon as she saw Li Xingyun, a bright smile immediately bloomed on her face, like a blooming flower.
"Young Master! You're back! Are you tired?" Ye Xiaoyu walked up quickly and followed Li Xingyun enthusiastically, asking him all kinds of questions and showing great concern for him.
Li Xingyun smiled and shook his head, then replied, "I'm not tired, Sister Xiaoyu, please make me some tea. I have something I want to discuss with Ye Qingcheng."
Ye Xiaoyu nodded obediently, turned around and went into the house to prepare tea. Li Xingyun found a place to sit in the yard and waited quietly for Ye Qingcheng to appear.
He knew that Ye Qingcheng, as the Grand Elder of the Twilight Society, must know many of its secrets, and might even know about his mother. Li Xingyun had always been curious about his mother's life experience, and now that he had finally had such an opportunity, he naturally didn't want to miss it.
This was one of the reasons why he chose to confront Ye Qingcheng. He hoped that by talking with Ye Qingcheng, he could solve the mystery in his heart and learn more about the truth about his mother.
"You're welcome, sir!" Ye Xiaoyu bowed, her movements as graceful as a fairy descending to earth. Then she walked away slowly with light lotus steps, as if she was stepping on clouds.
Li Xingyun led Wen Taiji through a quiet path to the stone table in the courtyard. He gently brushed the dust off the stone bench, then sat down leisurely, waiting for Ye Qingcheng to appear.
Given Ye Qingcheng's level of cultivation, Li Xingyun had no doubt she could hear the conversation. Sure enough, not long after, Ye Qingcheng emerged, just as he'd anticipated. Her figure was graceful, her steps light, like a dancing butterfly, as she approached with ease.
Ye Qingcheng came to the opposite side of Li Xingyun, sat down gracefully, stared at him with her beautiful eyes, and asked softly, "Young Master, do you have something to talk to me about?" Her voice was clear and pleasant, like the sound of nature.
Li Xingyun nodded slightly in response, then went straight to the point and said, "Well! I have a few things to ask you!" His tone was calm and firm, and he seemed to be looking forward to Ye Qingcheng's answer.
However, Li Xingyun did not give Ye Qingcheng too much time to think, and immediately said to himself: "I want to know what kind of organization the Twilight Society is!" His voice was low and powerful, revealing an unquestionable majesty.
Ye Qingcheng was stunned upon hearing this, having clearly not expected Li Xingyun to be so direct. She thought to herself, "How could this man be so rude? Asking for help with such an attitude! If I answered honestly, wouldn't it be too embarrassing?"
So, Ye Qingcheng snorted coldly, turned her head away proudly, no longer looking at Li Xingyun, and responded coldly: "I don't know! I won't tell you even if I know!"
"Hurry up and tell me, or I'll spank you!" Li Xingyun raised the corner of his mouth, revealing a sly smirk, and at the same time, he pretended to raise his right hand, as if he was really going to slap Ye Qingcheng on the butt.
Seeing this, Ye Qingcheng's heart tightened. Her originally fair face instantly flushed, like a ripe apple. She stared at Li Xingyun with wide eyes, a little annoyed, her lips slightly pursed, obviously not convinced by his threats, but in the end, she didn't continue to be stubborn.
He really doesn't give me any face at all, it's so annoying!
After a moment's silence, Ye Qingcheng took a deep breath, as if trying to calm her emotions. Then, she slowly spoke, "The Dusk Society is a faction with a very long history, dating back a very long time. I don't know exactly how many years it has been around."
Ye Qingcheng paused briefly, as if recalling something important. She continued, "The founder of the Twilight Society, we all respectfully call him the Twilight Taoist. I don't know much about him, but I do know he was a very powerful figure."
