Chapter 416: Saving the Cao Family Caravan

Chapter 416: Saving the Cao Family Caravan

Hearing Sharidao's humiliation, the Cao family members were filled with rage. Cao Mo clenched his fists and said to Cao Xun, "Second Elder, even if it means death, we will not let them off easy." His eyes were filled with determination and hatred, as if he wanted to perish with the bandits.

Cao Ling also raised her head. Though fear still lingered in her eyes, she was more determined. She said, "Dad, even if I kill myself, I won't let these bandits get away with it." Her voice was trembling, but it was filled with strength, a defense of her dignity.

Cao Xun looked at Cao Ling and Cao Mo, feeling deeply moved. He had initially wanted to plead with the bandits to spare his daughter, but now, he felt relieved. With the help of Cao Mo and Cao Ling, he struggled to his feet. His eyes lit up with renewed fighting spirit, as if forgetting the pain in his body. He gripped his knife tightly, ready to lead the Cao family and fight the bandits to the bitter end.

The atmosphere in the desert where the Cao family caravan confronted the sand bandits was as tense as a bowstring about to break, ready to explode at any moment.

The bandits fanned out, surrounding the Cao family caravan. Each one had a fierce expression, their eyes gleaming with greed and brutality. Some licked their cracked lips, as if they had already seen the caravan's treasures and Cao Ling's stunning beauty; others brandished their weapons, emitting bursts of roaring sounds, attempting to intimidate the Cao family members. Sharidao stood at the forefront, his figure as burly and powerful as a small hillock. His face trembled with his expression, and a hideous scar stretched from his left eye to the corner of his mouth, standing out in the sunlight like a serpentine centipede. He clutched a massive long sword, its blade gleaming coldly in the sunlight, as if telling of the countless blood it had drunk.

The members of the Cao family caravan huddled together, forming a defensive circle. Their faces were filled with fatigue and fear, yet a glimmer of determination lingered in their eyes. Cao Xun stood at the front, his face slightly pale, beads of sweat rolling down his forehead, sliding down his cheeks and into his neck. His clothes, drenched in sweat, clung to his body, but he remained upright, his hand tightly gripping the knife, which trembled slightly, revealing his inner tension and uneasiness. His gaze was fixed on the Shari Knife, a look that reflected both vigilance against the enemy and a sense of responsibility towards the Cao family members behind him.

Cao Ling stood behind her father, her hands tightly grasping the hem of his shirt, her knuckles white from the strain. Her eyes were filled with fear and anger, their once bright pupils now wide, fixed intently on the bandits. Her lips trembled slightly as she tried to speak, but her nerves held her back. In her heart, she prayed for a miracle to happen, for the Cao family caravan to survive this difficult time.

Cao Mo, on the other hand, directed the Cao family's guards. His voice was hoarse and deep, as he constantly reminded them of their positions and angles. His face was covered in wrinkles, the marks of time more apparent than ever. His eyes held a resolute look. Although he knew the enemy he faced was formidable, he remained determined to live and die with the Cao family caravan.

From behind the distant sand dunes, Lin Feng quietly observed all this. His eyes were calm and penetrating, as if he could see through everything beneath the tense situation. The corners of his mouth curled up slightly, revealing a subtle smile that contained both mockery of the bandits' greed and confidence in his own impending attack. "Now, the time has come," Lin Feng whispered softly. His voice was low and calm, yet it seemed to hold immense power. With that, he vanished like a ghost, leaving behind only a slightly swaying shadow on the sand.

The bandits were still mocking the Cao family caravan, their words vulgar and vicious. "Cao family, you've fallen into our hands today," one of the bandits shouted, his eyes gleaming with pride.

"This young lady is so pretty. We'll have some fun tonight." Another bandit said with a lewd smile. His eyes wandered freely over Cao Ling's body, making people feel sick.

"Kill all the others, leave no one alive!" Sharidao roared loudly, his voice like thunder, echoing in the desert.

At Sharidao's command, the two gangs charged at each other once more. Shouts of killing instantly resounded through the air, and the sound of weapons clashing filled the air. Just as the two sides were about to engage in a fierce battle, something strange happened. Suddenly, as if pulled by an invisible force, the bandits fell forward one by one. Their faces were filled with fear and confusion. Their bodies struggled desperately on the ground, trying to stand up, but they felt as if they were weighed down by a heavy burden, unable to move. Some bandits clawed at the ground, trying to find a foothold; others shouted for their companions, hoping for help.

Sharidao also felt this powerful force, his legs buckling involuntarily, his knees slumping to the ground. He gripped his long sword tightly with both hands, digging it into the sand, trying to support himself. Veins bulged on his face, sweat streamed down his face, and his eyes were filled with anger and resentment. He couldn't understand why this had suddenly occurred. Could it be that some mysterious force within the Cao family caravan was secretly aiding him?

The Cao family caravan members stopped short of seeing the bandits' unusual behavior. Their faces were filled with confusion and astonishment, wondering what was going on. "What are they doing?" Cao Ling asked, eyes wide open, bewildered. Her voice trembled slightly, and she was filled with bewilderment.

"Could it be that they were frightened by our aura?" Cao Mo muttered to himself, frowning. A hint of doubt lingered in his eyes. Although he knew it wasn't due to the Cao family caravan's aura, he couldn't think of any other reasonable explanation. Cao Xun was equally bewildered, his eyes warily scanning the surroundings, trying to uncover the truth.

At that moment, a voice echoed in everyone's ears: "You've arrived just in time." The voice was clear and powerful, as if it could penetrate the tense atmosphere. Upon hearing the voice, the Cao family members quickly turned around and looked. They saw a figure slowly approaching from behind the sand dunes. A piece of cloth covered his head, leaving only a pair of eyes exposed. Those eyes were bright and deep, as if they contained endless wisdom. He was wearing tattered clothes, but it still couldn't hide his upright posture. In his hand, he tightly grasped a long sword, the blade emitting a faint cold light, making people dare not underestimate him.
