Transmigrating to a Female-Dominated World: Handsome Men Keep Chasing After Me

Chapter 66

Chapter 66

Carefully hold the person in your arms, shield them from the wind and snow with your back, and check them over thoroughly.

"I'm sorry, it was my carelessness."

She apologized somewhat apologetically.

Rong Hengyu simply looked at her. His eyelashes were long, thick, and black, hanging down and casting a faint shadow on his fair skin.

The gaze fell on that slender, white hand, which was now stained red with blood. Blood-red jade beads slid down the crack, creating an eerie and bewitching effect.

Nalan Jingwen seemed not to feel any pain as he picked the person up, ignoring the injury on his hand.

The cloak that could have covered him had long since flown away, leaving Rong Hengyu completely exposed to the air.

The wind and snow have subsided a bit now, and carrying Rong Hengyu is not a solution; we must take advantage of this opportunity to reach the summit as soon as possible.

She glanced down at the pale face of the person in her arms, and hugged him tighter. He was like a porcelain doll now, unable to withstand the slightest bump or knock; the slightest touch would shatter him.

"If you're cold, stay close to me."

He nestled Rong Hengyu's head against his chest, in a cuddly posture, to prevent the wind and snow from getting in through his collar.

Rong Hengyu didn't react much, but simply extended a small jade finger from her sleeve and tugged at Nalan Jingwen's clothes with negligible force.

Nalan Jingwen channeled her profound energy and lifted her head upwards. If that avalanche were to happen again, she was afraid she really wouldn't be able to save Rong Hengyu.

After the avalanche, the path became even more difficult to walk on, and carrying Rong Hengyu made it even more inconvenient to walk, but she had no choice but to grit her teeth and move forward.

"Rong Hengyu, just hang in there a little longer, we're almost there."

He walked forward while comforting Rong Hengyu.

She glanced down and caught a glimpse of a trace of crimson blood at the corner of his lips, which stood out starkly against his pale skin. His eyes were closed, but his brows were furrowed. He lay quietly in her arms, looking like a sickly beauty, a sight to behold.

But Nalan Jingwen had no time to appreciate the beauty; her heart leaped when she saw the trace of blood at the corner of his lips.

"Rong Hengyu, don't sleep, we'll be there soon."

When she checked his aura, her heart sank further; it was extremely faint, almost imperceptible.

She frowned and transferred her profound energy to him once more, her movements becoming even faster, as if she were pushing her own limits.

It's almost there, just a little bit more.

The wind howled past, and the moment I reached the summit, I was completely exhausted and collapsed to my knees. My body was cold and numb, and I couldn't feel any pain.

Afraid of hurting the person in her arms, she leaned back, using her body as a cushion so that the person would fall on her.

I blinked, and snowflakes continued to fall from the sky, endlessly as if from the distant heavens.

She took a breath and raised her hand to protect the person on top of her so that they wouldn't fall off.

I turned my head and looked around. The place was almost barren and desolate. There was no sign of the Red Lotus.

He circulated his profound energy, felt his body warm up slightly, and regained some strength before slowly standing up.

My gaze swept across the landscape inch by inch, and all I saw were the pristine white snow and the broken stones of varying sizes.

Close your eyes and expand your five senses. Since it is a spiritual medicine, there must be spiritual energy overflowing from it.

They searched and quickly located a spot.

He walked quickly forward, then abruptly stopped, for ahead lay a sheer cliff.

A small pebble falls without making a sound, as if it were thrown into the sea.

The faint wisp of spiritual energy she sensed, though very weak, was absolutely unmistakable. But there was nothing here except for the sheer cliff.

She frowned, then quickly realized something.

He lowered his eyes to look at Rong Hengyu, who was already in a daze. After hesitating for a moment, he drew his short blade. A flash of cold light appeared in an instant, and he subconsciously narrowed his eyes.

With a light touch of the toes, he leaped off the cliff.

Her face was cold and stern, the wind whistled past her ears, and her body fell rapidly. She used some profound energy to shield Rong Hengyu from the strong wind.

Sure enough, there was a cave on the cliff face.

He infused the short blade in his hand with profound energy and plunged it into the wall edge, sparks flying everywhere.

Nalan Jing felt the person in his arms move slightly, but he didn't have time to check. He hugged her tighter and then thrust the short blade in until he stopped completely, stabilizing himself as he swayed.

Rong Hengyu couldn't see clearly; everything was blurry. He could only barely make out the outline of the person holding him, their taut jaw. The feeling of weightlessness told him that he was falling.

He could vaguely see the woman's solemn and worried face, her lips moving as if she were saying something, but it was all blurry, and her eyelids were so heavy she could barely keep them open.

Even so, he knew that their situation was dangerous.

"Rong Hengyu, just hang in there a little longer, it'll be over soon."

Nalan Jingwen looked at the cave less than a foot away from him, took a deep breath, and with a burst of strength, swung across, landing accurately in the cave.

After checking the person in his arms again to make sure everything was alright, he got up and walked into the cave.

The cave was very dark, and it was made entirely of frozen ice, like a naturally formed ice chamber.

Holding her breath and moving lightly, she could sense that besides her and Rong Hengyu, there was another person breathing, extremely heavy and slow.

The closer they got, the clearer their breathing became.

She suddenly stopped in her tracks, letting out a deafening roar. The ground beneath her feet began to shake as a massive black shadow lunged at her. Her expression hardened, and she quickly dodged it. A strong gust of wind billowed her robes.

A monster covered in white fur, with red eyes like giant lanterns and horns on its head.

Is this the ferocious beast guarding the Crimson Lotus?

Without giving her a moment to catch her breath, it turned around and pounced on her again. Nalan Jingwen was in a very inconvenient position with someone in her arms, so she dodged and looked for a place to hide.

Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a huge ice pillar, mustered his strength, rushed over, carefully placed Rong Hengyu behind the ice pillar, reinforced the protective shield around him, and then lured the ferocious beast to another location.

"Roar! —" A loud roar echoed throughout the cave, and above, icy rocks and ice spikes seemed to fall.

Its red, lantern-like eyes were particularly terrifying in the dark cave, and as the wind blew around it, it lunged at her again.

Nalan Jingwen seized the opportunity, forcefully pushed off the ground with his left foot, and leaped up into the air. In the instant he passed through the air, the short blade in his hand stabbed at it.

"Ding."

Nalan Jingwen's right hand went numb from the shock, and the short blade in his hand was almost knocked away.

The fur on this ferocious beast is incredibly tough!

Perhaps this action angered it, for it let out another furious roar, its breathing rapid and heavy, and charged swiftly toward Nalan Jingwen.

Nalan Jingwen dodged and weaved while searching for its weakness.

Waist, abdomen, neck.

None of them worked; they were all covered in stiff hair.

She looked up, her mind racing. Seizing the opportunity, she leaped again, grabbed its horns, and sat on her head.
