Chapter 16 The Shy Man
Chapter 16 The Shy Man
A hammer was thrown in front of Zhongli Yueluo, who was only two steps away from Su Fengjun.
In his excitement, he couldn't stop in time, twisted his ankle, and fell towards Su Fengjun.
She rushed towards Su Fengjun with a gust of wind, and that wind carried a familiar scent into Su Fengjun's nose.
This was the same scent he had smelled on his brother; it smelled rather pleasant.
While he was in a daze, the person in front of him got closer and closer. Before he could push her away, she fell on him, all of her delicate beauty.
Their lips met, and their teeth knocked two bloody marks out of each other.
Blood flowed into Su Fengjun's mouth through his lips, and his pupils dilated instantly. It was that pleasant smell!
For a moment, he forgot to push away the person on top of him. When He Yuhuan saw this, his anger rose again.
What's with all these men popping up one after another, trying to steal her away?!
That's not enough to go around! Her owner has tasted the most delicious food in the world in thousands of years!
"Let go of my master!" Rushing forward, trying to pull the two apart, Su Fengjun realized what he had just been doing.
He's here to participate in the marriage selection, and this kind of thing happening in public might not sound good to the Yaolu royal family.
He frowned, his eyes flashing with anger, and shoved Zhongli Yueluo aside.
His thumb slid across his lips, a strange light flashing in his eyes. The blood he had just absorbed had loosened the bottleneck that had been holding him back!
"Who are you!" A cold sword appeared in his hand, emanating a chilling aura, just like his icy demeanor.
He Yuhuan held a hammer in her hand: "I haven't even asked who you are, or why you bit my master!"
When this was mentioned, a hint of embarrassment flashed in his eyes. He knew that the person in front of him who looked like a man was actually a woman.
Zhongli Yueluo covered her lips, which were still bleeding, indicating she had been hit hard. She slowly got up from the ground and waved to He Yuhuan, saying, "I'm fine, Yuhuan, come back."
Su Fengjun's sword tip was already close to her face, stopping just inches away.
Zhongli Yueluo shivered, used her fingers to push the sword aside, smiled slightly, revealing two beautiful dimples.
"I'm sorry, young master, my aunt hasn't seen much of the world, please don't take it to heart. By the way, do the two young lords of the Wind Spirit Ghost Clan live here?"
She asked the question knowing the answer; if she had shown from the beginning that she knew their identities, they would have been extremely wary.
"What do you want with them?" His eyes were sinister, and his sword was still not sheathed.
Zhongli Yueluo held up the golden deer pendant tied around her waist: "I am Zhongli Yueluo, and I am the person they are going to marry."
When Su Fengjun heard that he was Zhongli Yueluo, his sinister gaze softened a bit, after all, he was still quite traditional at heart.
The romantic relationships of the Wind Spirit Ghost Clan are relatively clear, unlike those of the Medicine Deer Clan, where a person may have at least seventeen or eighteen beauties or husbands.
He sheathed his sword: "I wonder what business you have with them disguised as a man? This is against the rules."
“I have the permission of the sovereign and father. You are here to choose a spouse. Don’t you want to know in advance what kind of person you will spend the rest of your life with?”
His eyes dimmed; after all, their purpose in coming to choose a spouse was secondary, saving lives was the primary goal.
He even considered breaking off the engagement after rescuing the person, since the person who posed the greatest threat to their ghost clan was already in their hands.
But now he sees this young girl as the person he will spend the rest of his life with, and her scent has a strange attraction for him, which moves him.
"Hey! What are you daydreaming about? My master is asking you a question!"
At this moment, two ghost guards came out of the inn and respectfully bowed to Su Fengjun: "Young Master Feng, all the items have been delivered. Please check them and put them into storage."
Hearing them address him like that, Su Fengjun blushed instantly, though it was unclear what was causing his blush.
"I know." He also stole a glance at Zhongli Yueluo, seeing that her expression hadn't changed, and she still had that innocent look in her eyes.
He sheathed his sword, unsure of what to do with his hands, and secretly glanced at Zhongli Yueluo: "I am Su Fengjun, the young lord of the Wind Spirit Ghost Clan."
Zhongli Yueluo wondered how to greet this cold man without feeling awkward, and she couldn't keep projecting her memories of her past life onto him.
"Oh, I am Princess Zhongli Yueluo of the Medicine Deer Clan." She couldn't help but give such an official self-introduction.
"What brings you here, Princess?"
"Don't you invite me in for a seat? There are too many people and too many eyes on this street, it's hard to say anything." She blinked and looked back, indicating that someone was following her.
Su Fengjun wasn't stupid; he could read her expression and reluctantly extended his hand in a gesture of invitation.
She entered the inn, which was nothing special, but it was full of ghosts, and half of them were the marriage selection procession.
Zhongli Yueluo didn't stand on ceremony and casually found a table to sit down. Su Fengjun crossed his arms, his brows furrowed, and stared at her coldly.
Strangely enough, the girl in front of him didn't seem afraid of him at all. She tapped on the table and asked, "Young Master Feng, aren't you tired of standing?"
He reluctantly sat down opposite them, while He Yuhuan stuck his fingernails into the snacks on the table, looking playful.
"Speak, Princess."
"say what?"
"They came to see us before the marriage selection, weren't they planning to do something? Aren't they afraid the Zheng tribe will find out?"
"Alas, you are mistaken. I have done nothing wrong and have nothing to hide. Why would I be afraid of the Zhen Clan finding out? However, I do have something to say, and I would like to ask Young Master Feng to listen carefully."
Su Fengjun frowned even more, wondering what this quirky girl in front of him was up to.
But for some reason, it was as if some kind of magic made me want to obey her.
He stood up and leaned his head slightly closer to Zhongli Yueluo, who was just about to speak to him in private.
Seeing that they were too close, He Yuhuan placed a piece of pastry between their faces and grinned.
"Yu Huan, what I'm about to say is not suitable for outsiders to hear. Why don't you put up a barrier for me?" Zhongli Yueluo was amused and exasperated by He Yu Huan's actions.
He Yuhuan snapped her fingers, and a shimmering barrier extended around them, eventually enveloping the area around their table.
"You can talk like that in there, just don't get so close, hmph!" With her arms crossed and head turned to the side, she thought, "What if I get bitten again if I get so close?"
Zhongli Yueluo still believed in He Yuhuan's abilities. She straightened her clothes and coughed lightly, "Um, Young Master Feng, you've been staying at the inn since you entered the city. Haven't you been anywhere else?"
Su Fengjun was taken aback. Seeing her narrowed eyes, did she know something? He clenched his fists, his mind racing as he considered how to answer.
Su Fengling peeked out from upstairs, about to call out to his brother, when he saw this scene downstairs.
