Chapter 102 Wild Boar Herd

Chapter 102 Wild Boar Herd

Upon hearing this, Li Mu was stunned.

He hadn't expected the old man to want to catch a wild boar; this was no joke. Wild boars were incredibly strong and ferocious. If they angered one, how could the two of them possibly handle it?

But seeing the old man's confident look, Li Mu didn't know what to say and had no choice but to bite the bullet.

"Watch closely as I catch this wild boar."

After saying that, the old man quietly circled around to the side of the wild boar, and then suddenly threw the stone in his hand at the wild boar with all his might.

The wild boar was hit by a stone and howled in pain. Enraged, it turned and charged at the old man.

The old man quickly dodged to the side, avoiding the wild boar's attack. He then swiftly picked up a branch from the ground, preparing to fight the boar.

Li Mu watched in trepidation, fearing something might happen to the old man. He quickly shouted, "Master, it's coming! The wild boar is charging again!"

The old man remained calm and composed, skillfully dodging the wild boar's attacks while searching for an opportunity to retaliate.

He seized the opportunity, leaped up, and plunged the branch in his hand deep into the wild boar's neck.

The wild boar howled in pain and struggled frantically. But the old man held on tightly to the branch and, with all his might, drove it into the boar's neck.

Soon after, the wild boar lost its strength and collapsed to the ground.

The old man finally breathed a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Li Mu rushed over, and the old man handed him a tree branch: "What are you standing there for? Come and help! Let's carry this wild boar back, and we'll have meat to eat tonight!"

"Boom!"

The old man's expression changed upon hearing the voice, and he grabbed the man and ran backward, shouting, "Run!"

Li Mu was pulled so hard by the old man that he almost fell. Without thinking, he took off running after the old man.

"Master, what's wrong? Why are you running?" Li Mu asked, panting as he ran.

The old man's face was solemn. He didn't answer, but just ran forward desperately.

Li Mu had no choice but to follow the old man closely.

After running for a while, they came to a secluded stream. The old man stopped and turned to Li Mu, saying, "Don't make a sound, stay here and don't move! That wild boar might be bait. We made too much noise killing it just now, and it's probably attracted a herd of wild boars!"

Upon hearing this, Li Mu immediately felt tense. Killing a wild boar had attracted a whole herd of wild boars; this was truly an unexpected disaster.

Sure enough, not long after, they heard heavy footsteps approaching from afar.

Li Mu's heart was in his throat. He clenched his fists so tightly that his nails dug into his flesh.

Finally, a group of huge wild boars came into their view.

There were many wild boars, at least a dozen or so. They were all baring their teeth and covered in mud and leaves, looking very fierce.

The wild boar herd sniffed around, seemingly catching the smell of blood left behind from when they had just killed a wild boar.

Li Mu felt a chill run down his spine, his whole body tense, and his eyes wide open. The chances of him surviving seemed to be getting smaller and smaller. He subconsciously swallowed.

"Do you want both of them?"

"Huh?" Li Mu didn't understand what it meant for a moment.

The old man lowered his voice: "Should we take all these wild boars? They're top-quality game!"

Li Mu stared wide-eyed at the old man, saying in disbelief, "Master, you're not kidding, are you? How are we going to handle so many wild boars? What if we get surrounded by them and can't get out!"

The old man licked his lips and said, "What's the panic? I have a plan. Look over there, there's a narrow valley. We can lure the wild boars there. You block the entrance, and I'll drive them in from behind. We'll take turns driving them into the valley. Once they're inside, we'll seal the entrance. Hehe, then all these wild boars will be ours!"

"No, how do we seal it off?"

As soon as Li Mu finished speaking, the old man took out some ropes and wooden stakes from his basket, handed them to Li Mu, and said with a smile, "Let's use these to make a simple fence to seal off the entrance to the valley."

Li Mu took the rope and wooden stake with some skepticism, wondering to himself: Will this work?

"Wild boars aren't rabbits; they're incredibly powerful. Can our fence really keep them out?" Li Mu asked skeptically, looking at the rope and wooden stake in his hand.

The old man, however, was full of confidence: "Don't worry, I have a plan. Let's build the fence first, and then figure out a way to lure the wild boars into the valley."

The two climbed back a little further and then got busy building a simple fence at the mouth of the valley with ropes and wooden stakes.

Although the fence looks somewhat simple, it is quite sturdy thanks to the old man's skillful hands.

After the fence was erected, the two began to discuss how to lure the wild boars into the valley.

The old man looked around and said, "Pick some wild fruits and leaves, make this place a bit messy, so that the wild boars will think that other animals have been here, and they will follow the scent here."

Without further ado, the two quickly picked some wild fruits and leaves from the surrounding area and scattered them along the path they had come from, extending all the way to the mouth of the valley.

After doing all this, the two hid in a secluded spot and quietly waited for the wild boar herd to arrive.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before the wild boars followed the scent and came over.

As they walked, they sniffed the ground, attracted by the scents of wild fruits and leaves.

The old man quietly tugged at Li Mu's sleeve, signaling him to prepare to take action.

Li Mu nodded nervously, his heart pounding like a drum. The old man tiptoed around to the side of the wild boar herd and began to slowly drive them towards the valley.

The herd of wild boars seemed oblivious to the danger, continuing to intently follow the scent.

Li Mu hid in the shadows, nervously watching the old man's movements, gripping the rope of the fence tightly, ready to seal off the valley entrance at any moment.

Finally, driven by the old man, the wild boar herd slowly entered the valley.

Seeing this, Li Mu and the old man quickly pulled up the fence, blocking the entrance to the valley.

The wild boars were startled by the sudden appearance of the fence and turned to rush out, only to find that the fence was very sturdy and they could not break through it no matter what they did.

"Come on! Let's take them down!"

The old man held a short knife in his hand, his eyes revealing a fierce look.

"I'll stay inside and keep the wild boars from rushing out. You outside, use your sickle to chop their legs and bring them all down!"

The wild boars were charging wildly inside the enclosure, trying to break through and escape.

But the old man was not afraid at all. He stood at the gap in the fence, holding a short knife, guarding the gap tightly to prevent the wild boar from rushing out.

Li Mu, standing outside, seized the opportunity and forcefully slashed at the wild boars' legs with his sickle. Several wild boars were quickly felled.

Seeing their companion fall, the other wild boars charged at the fence even more frantically, and the old man was starting to feel the strain. He gritted his teeth and held the breach tightly, large beads of sweat rolling down his face.

Li Mu was also sweating profusely outside. He swung his sickle and kept hacking at the wild boars' legs, but there were many wild boars and they were incredibly strong. After he cut down a few, his arms ached and he could barely hold the sickle anymore.
