Chapter 267 May We Be Blissfully Happy
Tan Xiangchen poured Li Yuzhu a glass of juice, his movements gentle and considerate.
After taking the juice, Li Yuzhu took a small bite and a satisfied smile appeared on her face.
"Zhu'er, you look especially beautiful today," Tan Xiangchen said softly.
Li Yuzhu looked up at him and said, "Xiang Chen, you are the most beautiful man in my heart."
At this moment, Tan Xiangchen's eyes were filled with deep affection as he gently stroked Li Yuzhu's face: "We are finally together."
Tan Xiangchen's reflections on family
Looking at his two sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren, Tan Xiangchen felt a surge of satisfaction.
He realized that this was the real home—a place full of love and warmth.
"Zhu'er, look, we have our own little family now, and so many relatives. This is what I've always dreamed of," Tan Xiangchen said with emotion.
Li Yuzhu nestled in his arms: "Yes, we have finally found our happiness."
Tan Xiangchen gently stroked her long hair: "From now on, I will spend the rest of my life protecting you and our family."
……
Sunlight streamed into the room through the curtains as Tan Zhengchu and Su Yingxue sat at the dining table, enjoying breakfast with their parents.
The atmosphere at the dinner table was warm, but Tan Zhengchu felt somewhat anxious.
"Mom and Dad, let's leave after breakfast." Tan Zhengchu put down his chopsticks and said with a smile, "There are still many things waiting for us to take care of in Pengcheng."
Li Yuzhu nodded, a hint of reluctance in her eyes, but still replied softly, "Okay, we'll pack up and leave."
Tan Xiangchen wore a black mask. Although he did not speak, his gaze was gentle, seemingly tacitly approving of his son's suggestion.
After breakfast, Li Yuzhu went into the study alone.
In the study, the walls are covered with paintings, each one hand-painted by Tan Xiangchen, recording their longing and waiting for more than 20 years.
She stood in front of the painting, her fingers gently tracing the frame, her eyes filled with longing.
“These paintings… I want to take them back to Pengcheng.” Li Yuzhu turned to look at Tan Xiangchen, her tone filled with anticipation. “They are so important to me.”
Tan Xiangchen approached her. Although the mask concealed his expression, the smile in his eyes was unmistakable. "I'll draw for you every day from now on, why take these things with you?"
Li Yuzhu shook her head, her gaze resolute: "No, these paintings are our memories, every stroke carries your longing. I want to take them home."
Tan Xiangchen was silent for a moment, then finally nodded. "Alright, I understand how you feel." He paused, then continued, "However, transporting these paintings might require some arrangements. Zhengchu is very capable now; he should be able to help us solve this problem."
Li Yuzhu smiled with relief: "Thank you, Xiang Chen."
Just then, Tan Zhengchu pushed open the door and walked in. "Mom and Dad, the car is ready, we can leave at any time." His voice was steady and strong.
Seeing his parents standing in the study, Tan Zhengchu's gaze swept over the paintings covering the walls, and he seemed to understand something.
"The scenery here is beautiful, but it's not home. We should go back."
Tan Xiangchen looked at his son and asked calmly, "Your mother wants to take these paintings back to Pengcheng. What do you think?"
Tan Zhengchu looked around and then nodded: "No problem, I've already arranged for professionals to transport these paintings back safely by helicopter." He paused and then asked, "Dad, is there anything else you need to take with you? We can arrange that together."
Tan Xiangchen shook his head, his tone indifferent: "None of the things here are important to me. I don't want to take anything with me, including my memories."
Upon hearing this, a complex expression flashed across Li Yuzhu's eyes, but she quickly regained her composure.
“Xiang Chen, I understand how you feel.” Li Yuzhu walked to Tan Xiang Chen’s side and gently took his hand. “But these paintings are very meaningful to me, and I want to take them home.”
Her voice was gentle yet firm, as if she were stating an undeniable fact. Tan Xiangchen looked at her and finally nodded.
"Okay, let's go home."
As Li Yuzhu stepped out of the study, she glanced back at the paintings covering the walls, her heart filled with emotion.
The Tan family used to be an insurmountable obstacle for her, but now she has entered this family and become a member of it.
"The disappointments of the past will fade with time," Li Yuzhu said softly, as if speaking to herself, or perhaps to Tan Xiangchen. "We will walk together toward a happy future."
She believes that despite the many ups and downs she has experienced in the first half of her life, the rest of her life will surely be filled with happiness.
And all of this began from this moment.
At this moment, Su Yingxue stood quietly outside the study, waiting for them to come home together.
Not long after, the door was gently pushed open, and the parents, Tan Xiangchen and Li Yuzhu, came out one after the other.
Su Yingxue keenly noticed that their expressions seemed a little tense, as if they had something on their minds.
"Dad, Mom, are you ready?" Su Yingxue greeted them with a smile, her voice soft and full of concern.
"Yes, we're ready." Tan Xiangchen and Li Yuzhu slowly turned their heads, their eyes filled with solemnity. They simply nodded slightly to Su Yingxue and then walked straight into the distance.
Tan Zhengchu appeared out of nowhere. He noticed Su Yingxue staring intently at her parents' departing figures, her eyes filled with confusion. He gently walked to Su Yingxue's side, softly placed his hand on her shoulder, and asked softly, "What are you thinking about, so lost in thought?"
Su Yingxue frowned slightly and said with a puzzled look, "Mom and Dad look so nervous, I wonder what's wrong. Is something on their mind?"
Tan Zhengchu gently hugged her and patiently explained, "Baby, we're going home soon. The concept of home is quite unfamiliar to them. They've been used to wandering around for so many years. It's normal for them to feel nervous and lost when they suddenly have to return to a real home."
Su Yingxue nodded gently, lost in thought. Her eyes held a hint of understanding as she slowly said, "I understand. They must be feeling very confused. But thinking about their love story, so full of hardships yet so deep, I believe they will definitely be very happy in the future."
As she spoke, Su Yingxue fell into memories. Zhengchu's parents had once loved each other so passionately, yet they were forced to separate.
Life is so short, and once precious feelings are missed, who knows how many regrets will be left behind.
She turned and looked at Tan Zhengchu with deep affection, and said firmly, "No matter what happens in the future, I will never leave you."
Upon hearing this, Tan Zhengchu hugged her tightly and whispered, "Me too, we'll always be together."
