Chapter 50: Accidentally Entering the Mysterious Valley
After leaving the temple fair, Liu Yu and his group continued on their journey. The scenery along the way was picturesque, with birds singing merrily in the branches, as if bidding them farewell.
"Ugh, this journey has been fun, but it's also been exhausting. When can we find a comfortable place to rest?" Liu Yu stretched and yawned as she spoke.
Xu Xian chimed in, "Yes, my legs are about to break from walking."
Xiaoqing rolled her eyes at them: "You two are so delicate. Your sister and I haven't even complained about being tired yet."
As they were talking, a fork in the road appeared before them. The road to the left looked flat and wide, while the road to the right was overgrown with weeds, winding and twisting, seemingly leading to a mysterious place.
Liu Yu scratched his head: "Which road should we take?"
Bai Suzhen said, "Why don't we go to the left? It looks easier to walk there."
Liu Yu's eyes lit up: "No, let's go to the right. Maybe we'll make some interesting discoveries."
Left with no other choice, everyone followed Liu Yu onto the path on the right.
As I walked, the surrounding scenery became increasingly peculiar. The trees were towering, their branches and leaves intertwined to form a green canopy. The wildflowers by the roadside were colorful and strangely shaped, some like smiling faces, others like ghostly faces, making one unable to help but chuckle.
"This place is really interesting, like a fairy tale world." Liu Yu looked around excitedly.
Suddenly, a giant butterfly flew over, its wings adorned with vibrant, colorful patterns, and it was even larger than Liu Yu's body.
Liu Yu was startled: "My God, this butterfly must be a spirit!"
The butterfly hovered above their heads a few times before flying away.
"Brother-in-law, you're such a coward," Xiaoqing mocked.
They continued walking and came to the entrance of a valley. A thin layer of mist hung in the valley, hazy and mysterious.
Liu Yu curiously peeked inside: "This place looks quite mysterious, let's go in and take a look."
After a moment's hesitation, the group followed him into the valley.
As soon as we entered the valley, we heard a strange sound, like someone singing, or like the sound of the wind.
Liu Yu said nervously, "What's that sound? Could it be a monster?"
Xu Xian was so frightened that he clung tightly to Liu Yu's clothes: "I, I'm scared."
Bai Suzhen comforted her, "Don't be afraid, it may just be the wind."
They walked carefully forward and saw some strangely shaped stones by the roadside, some resembling animals and others resembling human figures, all very lifelike.
Liu Yu couldn't resist reaching out to touch a rock that looked like a monkey. Suddenly, the rock started moving, startling Liu Yu so much that she fell to the ground.
"Hey, the stone is alive!" Liu Yu shouted.
It turned out that it wasn't a stone, but a monster that looked like a stone.
The monster stared at Liu Yu, exhaling a puff of hot air from its mouth.
Xiaoqing quickly drew her sword: "Don't be afraid, watch me take care of it!"
The monster and Xiaoqing started fighting. Xiaoqing dodged left and right, very nimbly.
Liu Yu shouted from the side, "Xiao Qing, keep it up!"
Xu Xian stood to the side with his eyes closed, muttering, "Amitabha, Amitabha..."
After a fierce battle, Xiaoqing finally defeated the monster.
"Haha, I'm awesome, aren't I!" Xiaoqing said proudly.
They continued walking and found a small lake in the valley. The water was so clear that the stones and fish at the bottom were clearly visible.
Liu Yu ran over excitedly: "Wow, this water is so clear! I'm going to wash my face."
He had just squatted down when a water monster suddenly emerged from the lake, baring its fangs and claws as it lunged at him.
Liu Yu was so frightened that she turned and ran, yelling, "Help!"
The water monster was hot on their heels, and everyone ran after it.
They ran back and forth in the valley, panting heavily.
Finally, they hid in a cave.
The monster lingered outside the cave for a while before finally leaving.
Liu Yu leaned against the cave wall, panting heavily: "This valley is too dangerous. Let's get out of here quickly."
Everyone nodded in agreement, preparing to leave this mysterious place.
However, when they came out of the cave, they found themselves lost.
"What should we do?" Liu Yu scratched his head anxiously.
Just then, a little squirrel ran over, with a pine cone in its mouth.
Liu Yu had a sudden inspiration: "Little squirrel, can you lead the way for us?"
The little squirrel glanced at them, then hopped and skipped away.
Following the little squirrel, Liu Yu and the others finally made it out of the valley.
"Phew, we're finally out! This was a close call!" Liu Yu exclaimed.
They continued on their journey, unaware of what interesting and thrilling things awaited them ahead...
