Chapter 569 - 557: South of the Yangtze River, You’re the Agent!
Chapter 569 - 557: South of the Yangtze River, You’re the Agent!
Qin Fan was slightly taken aback by Li Qiuzhe calling him "Boss Qin," but he wasn’t one to fuss over such things. He simply raised his hand slightly and said, "No rush."
After speaking, he turned to look at the Mercedes with its flashing hazard lights and the assortment of Japanese cars that had arrived as reinforcements. With his back to Chang Yuanyi and the others, he gave a cool command: "Smash the cars."
At his word, the group of young masters, led by Chang Yuanyi, responded in unison. They quickly scrambled back to their cars to grab tools. Some grabbed bats or clubs, others snatched up tire jacks. Those without tools even wrapped their fists in cloth. Dozens of them immediately swarmed the vehicles.
Getting dozens of spoiled young masters to smash cars together was a spectacle that perhaps only Qin Fan could orchestrate in all of Jinling. Not even Bao Qiudong, or even Chang Yuanyi—whose charisma far surpassed Bao Qiudong’s—could have easily pulled off such a scene.
CLANG! CRASH! BANG! BOOM!
With dozens of people putting their backs into it, destroying a few cars was a piece of cake. Amid the cacophony, the vehicles were quickly reduced to piles of scrap metal.
Jiang Yino and Ji Yi stood there, stunned and gaping.
They had considered a thousand different possibilities, but what was happening, again and again, went far beyond their wildest expectations. Though these cars weren’t luxury vehicles, together they were worth one or two million! And with a single command, they were turned into scrap metal?
As for the drivers the Mercedes owner had summoned, they no longer had the heart to mourn their destroyed cars. They could only crouch on the ground, trembling and silently praying that Qin Fan would stop there.
"Boss Qin, that should be about it. There’s nothing left to smash. Should I get someone to come burn them?" Chang Yuanyi asked, panting as he returned to Qin Fan’s side.
"There’s no need for that," Qin Fan said, shaking his head.
"Alright. So what’s next for these bastards?" As he spoke, Chang Yuanyi pointed a finger at the members of the Mercedes crew, who were trembling with pale, terrified faces.
How to deal with them?
Qin Fan gave a cold smile.
"Li Qiuzhe, bring the paint over!" Qin Fan ordered.
"Got it!" Li Qiuzhe replied. With a wave of his hand, his underlings, who had just snapped out of their shock, rushed over to the pickup truck bed. They quickly returned carrying buckets of orange paint.
"Boss Qin, what’s next?" Li Qiuzhe asked.
"’Orange-Peel Dogs.’ They used those words to insult the sanitation worker! Since they’re so fond of the term ’Orange-Peel Dog,’ let’s indulge them! Drench every last one of them in this orange paint!" Qin Fan snarled through gritted teeth.
Drenched in paint? Hearing Qin Fan’s harsh words, the men from the Mercedes crew panicked, screaming hysterically, "No, no, I didn’t say it! I never said that!"
"It doesn’t matter if you said it or not! You should be grateful you didn’t physically attack the old man. Otherwise, this wouldn’t end with just a coat of paint!"
With a stern expression, Qin Fan walked over to the sanitation worker. He reached out, helped the still-dazed old man to his feet, and said, "Sir, come on. I’ll have someone take you to the hospital for a check-up."
"No, no, I couldn’t! Boss Qin, I’m fine, my old bones are tough! Don’t waste your money, please don’t!" Still in a daze, the old sanitation worker’s eyes shot open as he frantically protested Qin Fan’s offer. He only earned a few dozen yuan for working from dawn till dusk. Go to the hospital? Registration alone was several yuan, and then there were check-ups, IVs, and medicine. The money he earned to support his family wouldn’t be enough to cover any of it. For decades, whatever aches and pains he suffered, he had always just toughed it out. If it got truly unbearable, he’d go to a barefoot doctor for some medicine that cost just a few yuan. To him, the word "hospital" was more terrifying than a tiger.
"Don’t worry, sir, you don’t have to pay. Just go get checked out. They’re the ones who hurt you, so they have to pay the medical bills! Rest assured, it won’t cost you your hard-earned money," Qin Fan persuaded.
"That’s no good either! We can’t scam people! I’m not hurt, really, I’m not! Boss Qin, you’re the one who needs to go! You beat them up so badly... if the police come, your life will be ruined! Quick, you have to leave! Don’t worry about me!" As he spoke, the old sanitation worker began to worry about Qin Fan. Although he couldn’t stop Qin Fan from being so ruthless, at this critical moment, he was still worried that Qin Fan would be arrested. After all, this had all started because of him. He couldn’t just stand by and watch a young man’s life be ruined on his account.
"Sir! If you don’t go to the hospital, then I’m not leaving either. I’ll just wait here for the police to arrest me!" Knowing it would be hard to sway the old man’s resolve, Qin Fan played his trump card. He knew this would work.
"Kid, don’t be a fool! You have to go, quickly!" Sure enough, the old sanitation worker’s eyes widened in alarm, and he began to urgently push Qin Fan away.
"Sir, my mind is made up. If you don’t go to the hospital, I will wait right here for the police. Are you going or not?" Qin Fan pressed.
"You... you... alright, alright! I’ll listen to you! I’ll go to the hospital! I’ll go! But I’m not scamming anyone, I’ll pay for it myself!" the old sanitation worker finally relented, gritting his teeth.
"As long as you go to the hospital, that’s all that matters," Qin Fan said with a faint smile.
There was no way he’d let the old man pay for himself. The immediate priority was just to get him to the hospital first. Honestly, with the Elixirs in his storage space, completely healing the old man’s body would be effortless. But there was no need for that. It wasn’t a problem that required Elixirs; a hospital visit would suffice, and he didn’t want to waste the few precious Elixirs he had left.
The old man shivered in the cold wind, hunching his shoulders before nodding with gritted teeth.
"Chang Yuanyi, arrange for someone to take the gentleman to the hospital," Qin Fan said, having gotten the old man’s agreement.
"Boss Qin, I’ll go!"
"Boss Qin, I’ll go!"
"Boss Qin, I’ll go!"
A whole group of young masters immediately volunteered. Qin Fan shook his head with a helpless smile and ended up just picking someone at random.
"Fan, I’ll go with him," Ji Yi offered, stepping forward without a second thought.
"Alright, good," Qin Fan nodded, waving his hand with a faint smile.
He watched as Ji Yi and the sanitation worker walked to a car at the back of the luxurious convoy. Qin Fan only looked away after their car departed. The smile from a moment ago vanished instantly. He looked at the trembling members of the Mercedes crew, who were staring back with pleading eyes.
His expression turned emotionless as he commanded, "Drench them!"
With his order, Li Qiuzhe’s men immediately hoisted the buckets of orange paint.
"No, no, no!"
"No, no, no!"
"No, no, no!"
No matter how gutturally they screamed, it couldn’t change their fate. One bucket after another of orange paint was splashed over the helpless members of the Mercedes crew.
"Clean up this mess. I’m leaving," Qin Fan said, turning and patting Chang Yuanyi on the shoulder just as the paint began to fly.
"Don’t worry, Boss Qin. I understand," Chang Yuanyi replied with a serious nod.
Nodding, Qin Fan walked over to Jiang Yino, who was still in a daze. He gently took her soft hand and smiled. "Yino, let’s go."
"Oh, okay... okay," Jiang Yino stammered, still dazed, and reflexively tightened her grip on the hand holding hers.
"Boss Qin, I’ll see you off!" Chang Yuanyi called out quickly from behind as he watched Qin Fan and Jiang Yino walk away.
Qin Fan waved a hand behind him without looking back. "No need. By the way, starting today, you’re the agent for all of Spirit Water No. 1 south of the Yangtze River, excluding Lingnan."
