Chapter 453 - 375: Black Wind of the Abyssal Sect
Chapter 453 - 375: Black Wind of the Abyssal Sect
Raylo nodded. Unlike a Lone Ranger who could act on personal whims and vendettas, a leader of a Duchy had to prioritize the Duchy’s interests.
The bound Mage listened to their conversation, the smile on his face growing wider. He even nodded along in a show of mock seriousness.
"Well said, very well said. Politics... I know a thing or two about that myself."
Raylo walked up to the Mage and looked down at him.
The Golden Dragon Sun let out a low growl in the sky, and its immense Dragon Mighty pressed down like a mountain.
An invisible pressure enveloped the Mage. The smile on his face stiffened slightly, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
"Talk."
Raylo said.
"Why were you spreading those rumors? Where is your stronghold in the Black Stone Mountain Range?"
The Mage’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He looked up, met Raylo’s eyes, and after a few seconds of silence, that same enigmatic smile returned to his face.
"Count Black Stone, you want to know? Beg me."
His eyes were filled with provocation and disdain.
He was certain Raylo wouldn’t dare kill him here, and that his own life was safe for the moment.
’Since his life wasn’t in danger, why should he cooperate?’
Raylo’s eyes narrowed.
’He knew he wouldn’t get anything out of this hardened bastard anytime soon.’
’Torture?’
’For a Domain Level Mage, physical and mental pain probably wouldn’t be enough to shake his will anymore.’
He took a step back and said to Elvin.
"In that case, please take him back to Thunder Dragon City."
Elvin nodded, grabbed the Mage by the collar, and threw him onto the Frost Giant Bear’s back like a sack of potatoes.
"Thank you for your help, Your Highness."
Elvin’s tone was completely sincere.
"If you hadn’t arrived in time, catching him would have been a lot more trouble."
"It was nothing."
Raylo replied.
The Mage adjusted his position on the bear’s back and even had the nerve to wave his bound hands at Raylo.
"Count Black Stone, we’ll meet again! I hope your territory is still there next time!"
Elvin slapped him on the back of the head, shutting him up.
"Farewell."
Elvin nodded to Raylo, swung himself onto the Giant Bear, and turned to gallop toward Thunder Dragon City.
The enormous Frost Giant Bear left a trail of huge, frozen footprints on the ground, quickly disappearing over the horizon.
Quiet returned to the battlefield once more.
Kado walked over, his javelin slung over his shoulder, and asked in his deep, booming voice.
"My Lord, that was a perfect opportunity. Why didn’t you let me pin him to the ground with my javelin?"
For a Hill Giant, it was incomprehensible not to smash an enemy to bits when they were right in your face.
Raylo glanced at the simple-minded Giant and shook his head.
"Kado, sometimes, keeping an enemy alive is more useful than killing them."
He looked up in the direction Elvin had departed, his gaze distant.
’The Abyssal Sect, that malignant tumor festering in the shadows of the Continent, had, for the first time, shown him the tip of the iceberg.’
’They weren’t just fanatical believers; they were a group of conspirators who knew how to exploit rules and human nature.’
"We’re heading back."
Raylo turned and leaped back onto Baofeng’s back.
"Sun, Kado, let’s go home."
The golden Giant Dragon let out a clear, resounding roar and, along with the Griffin King, beat its wings and flew toward Black Stone Territory.
Kado set off at a great stride, following behind them, each step covering more than ten meters.
