Chapter 342 Rescue
Chapter 342 Rescue
They called on Lü Xiongchu, and the six of them rode at full speed. Just as they left the village, two horses flashed past Wang Erniu's eyes.
Wang Erniu hesitated for a moment before glancing back, but Lü Xiong exclaimed excitedly, "Lightning!"
"Hee-ho!" The black horse neighed, braked sharply, turned a corner, and caught up, followed by the yellow horse.
"Haha! It really is Lightning!" Lü Xiong exclaimed with delight, leaping onto his horse. Lightning nuzzled his hand affectionately as it rode, and even knew to run home.
"This horse is quite good!" Brother Nie praised sincerely.
“It’s really good!” Wang Erniu nodded as well.
As if understanding, the lightning hissed twice and ran even faster.
The group sped along and soon arrived at the edge of the village. Wang Erniu instructed Chu Yi to find a good horse, while the others stood guard outside. He sent Lü Xiong, who had the best light-footed skills, and Ma Liu to sneak into the garden and scout out the situation.
As it turned out, Zhong Chang and his servants were not there; only a man and a woman were guarding the three households, all of whom had children and elderly people with them.
After discussing it with Ali, Wang Erniu led his men to knock on the door to attract their attention, while Ali led his men to rescue the person. Since the person wasn't tied up, it would be easier to take them away.
"Knock knock knock," Wang Erniu and Brother Nie knocked on the door openly.
Ah Xing and Ah Yue knew someone was approaching, but they weren't sure, and who would know about this place? So they didn't dare to step forward easily.
The two exchanged a glance. They kept knocking on the door, and Ah Xing had no choice but to open it. Upon seeing Wang Erniu, the two confronted each other. Ah Yue, who was hiding behind, tried to run away, but Brother Nie rushed over and stopped her.
Seeing the two men's ill intentions, A-Yue didn't dare to make any rash moves. She had fought this man to a draw last time, and with the other one being clearly stronger, A-Xing was hesitant.
Wang Erniu smiled faintly and said confidently, "You probably know why I'm here. You are no match for me. We're only here to rescue people. You'd better not fight us. I don't want to hurt anyone."
Ah Xing readily agreed, chuckling, "That works too, you can give me some dried meat in exchange."
Wang Erniu was taken aback. "I'm sorry, I didn't come to give a gift, so I didn't bring one."
"Then let's have a fight!" Ah Xing said without further ado and immediately attacked.
Wang Erniu had no choice but to accept the attack, each punch generating a powerful force.
Brother Nie looked at A-Yue and smiled, "Can we not fight?"
"This... I'm afraid that won't work!" Ah Yue drew her sword swiftly, aiming straight for his face.
"So fierce for such a young age!" Brother Nie blocked with his longsword, meeting her sword energy head-on.
"You're not bad either, you're so old, yet you still have quite a temper." Ah Yue's pretty face turned cold as she gracefully dodged.
Seeing this from the rooftop, Lü Xiong was just in time and immediately waved to Ah Li to hurry up.
Ah Li showed Ma Liu his official badge and told the three households what he had done. The households were so grateful that they ran away quickly. Ah Li led his men around to the back door and they all slipped away quietly.
After about fifteen minutes, Lü Xiong estimated that they had run enough, so he asked, "Brother, are you tired? Do you need my help?"
There was someone else here! Ah Yue looked up at him resentfully, dodging Brother Nie's blade and giving him a disdainful look.
Ah Xing was in an even worse state. No one had said that Wang Erniu was so strong. He managed to block with his fist, but now his arm was sore. He couldn't beat him, so he could only dodge.
After another round, Ah Xing and Ah Yue stood back to back. Ah Xing whispered, "We can't win, let's run!"
"Okay!" A-Yue turned and ran, while A-Xing was a beat behind. "Damn it, no sportsmanship!" he exclaimed and quickly fled.
Wang Erniu and his men had no intention of pursuing them any further. They looked around but found no trace. It seemed they were all seasoned veterans who had been lying in wait, and they hadn't found anything useful.
After leaving the garden, the group walked for half an hour and encountered Ah Li and his group waiting on the main road. Soon after, Li Huanqiu arrived with three children, and Shi Tou also rented three carriages.
The families were so moved by their escape and unity that they wept uncontrollably, kneeling down to express their gratitude. Ah Li urged them to leave quickly, and Wang Erniu had Brother Nie hand over some silver. The children burst into tears.
The girl, in particular, was utterly ashamed to face him.
"I'm sorry, Uncle, I misunderstood you."
"Thank you so much. I am deeply grateful and will definitely repay your kindness."
"I kneel to thank my benefactor!"
Brother Nie smiled slightly, "You are still children, and protecting your family was out of necessity. In the future, learn proper manners and understand right from wrong, and don't do such things again."
"Thank you so much, benefactor. We will remember this forever." The group left by car, and Ah Li and Ma Liu returned to town.
Just as Wang Erniu was about to return to the manor, a soldier ran up from afar to deliver an order.
"General, Lieutenant Wang asked me to deliver a message to you, requesting that you return to camp immediately!"
Wang Erniu quickly finished reading the letter and said, "Come back to camp with me on the first day of the lunar month. Brother Nie, please tell my wife for me."
"okay!"
Back at the village, Brother Nie told Chen Wenfang about the matter. She didn't care at all; what worried her was the orders. She had received an order for 5,000 catties of wine, and it seemed like there would be more orders in the future. The five jars of wine that had just been delivered to Chen's shop yesterday were sold out in just one day. Sure enough, the wine sold very well, and even Aunt Hu and Sister-in-law Nie couldn't keep up with the demand.
During dinner that evening, Chen Wenfang explained the situation and then said, "Third Aunt, Aunt Liu, do you think we can hand over everything? I want to build a large distillery and let you brew the wine. It's not difficult at all; anyone with eyes can figure it out, so we need our own people to do it."
Aunt Li nodded, "I can do that, it's just some handicrafts."
Aunt Liu pondered, "I can pay, but I'm still not entirely at ease about checking the accounts. Chahua is very clever."
“Then you shouldn’t release it. With Brother Nie and Third Brother involved, this is a rather arduous task. This brewing business definitely needs to be done independently. Perhaps in the future, we will open another estate, not just Wang Family Estate. You all need to learn it,” Chen Wenfang said confidently.
“Then let’s do it ourselves. Wang Qi from the construction team is fine, and Zhuantou is good too. The two young men are quite capable, so we can trust them.” Brother Nie said cautiously.
The matter was settled. The next day, Brother Nie planned the site for the brewery and made arrangements. He and Li Huanqiu began to learn brewing from Sister-in-law Nie. Chen Wenfang finally breathed a sigh of relief, as she had been exhausted these past few days.
In the afternoon, Wang Erniu returned to the village. It was past lunchtime, so Chen Wenfang cooked him a bowl of noodles with three poached eggs and a few slices of meat. The bright green cabbage paired with the golden eggs and the dark brown meat looked very appetizing.
Wang Erniu didn't waste any time and finished his meal in less than fifteen minutes.
